Review Of Adventure Force Night Attack

The Night Attack is another addition to the Adventure Force line this fall, coming from Buzz Bee Toys. This pistol has a magazine compatibility feature and a rail-mounted flashlight. It is quite large. The flashlight is also fairly useless. The pistol itself, however, packs a nice punch.

The Latest In The Line

The Night Attack comes from the same line of pistols as the Buzz Bee Champion, Reaper, and Eradicator (if one leaves off the attachments for the last entry). All share the same basic design: a top-priming slide and a pistol grip that is somewhat smaller than the rest. There’s also a magazine well at the front. These pistols were based on the Eradicator’s large-sized plunger tube. The Night Attack is no exception.

Although the form factor is a little different from a Retaliator, it’s still quite usable. The grip is a bit small, and the moving plunger tube system requires a longer shell. Even so, the blaster has some features that make up for the deficiencies. The blaster can be held in place by the textures of the grip and priming slide, particularly the bumps that have been molded into it. Although it’s not the best shell, it’s easy to use, especially for larger hands.

The included flashlight has a dim red LED within, powered by two AA batteries. The flashlight also features a secondary switch underneath the rail mount so it will only turn on when mounted. Its an interesting design choice that keeps you from accidentally turning it on and draining the batteries when separated. It is also clear that it is not meant to be used as a flashlight.

Green And Mean

The Night Attack features quite a bit of power within. Using the included Long Distance darts, I averaged 84fps, albeit with little accuracy. Nerf Elites averaged just 79fps.

These are still solid fps measurements, and they were very consistent in both cases. This pistol would be great if it had more precise darts.

Although the pistol doesn’t have slam fire I was still able get off about two darts per sec.

Final Opinion

The Adventure Force Night Attack blaster is simple. It has a cute gimmick in the flashlight, and a shell meant more for kids. It is powerful enough to launch darts. This blaster will, in my opinion, be added to the arsenal for HvZ.
